SAND Player is a media player. We collect as little as possible: no advertising, no tracking, no analytics, and we never sell data.

Who we are
SAND Player is made by Bytes by Sand, Sweden. Questions or requests: hello@bytesbysand.com.
What the apps keep on your device
Your settings, favorites, recently watched channels, resume points and cached playlists and guides are stored only on your TV, phone or computer. They are not sent to us.
What our website stores
- Device ID and key. Each TV gets a random device ID (it looks like a MAC address but isn't read from the hardware) and a secret that only the app knows. We store the ID, a hash of the secret, the device type and app version, and when the device was last seen.
- Playlists you add. The name, playlist address and guide address you enter on the activation page, so your TV can load them. Playlist addresses can contain your provider login; we only use them to deliver them to your device.
- Licence and payments. Your trial or licence status, plan, amount and the payment reference. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment.
- Server logs. IP addresses are used briefly for security and rate limiting.
Relayed requests
On TVs that run SAND Player as a web page (for example Philips Titan OS or Hisense VIDAA), some providers block playlist and guide downloads. The app may then fetch them through our server for activated devices. The content passes through and is not stored. Video is never relayed.
Why we use it
Only to run the service you asked for: activating your device, delivering your playlists and handling your licence (legal basis: performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
How long we keep it
Device and playlist data is kept while the device is in use and deleted after 24 months of inactivity, or sooner if you ask. Payment records are kept as long as accounting law requires (7 years in Sweden).
Your rights
You can see, correct or delete your playlists any time on the activation page. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted, at hello@bytesbysand.com. You may complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or your local authority.
Children
SAND Player is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
